I will be the first to say that the Army is not for everyone. I joined the Army, not only just to make my family proud, but mainly to get an education. When I got kicked out of PCC my credits disappeared. I had to find a way to pay for my college degree. So I joined the army. I do not want to say that I regret any of the decisions that I do in my life, however at times I do wonder how my life would be if I had never joined. Although I have push myself to limits I did not know existed and have done things I never thought I could, there are many times I wish I had never joined the Army. Why? Mainly because the army takes so much of your time and energy that you feel like life is passing by you. There are many things I wish I could go do for example travel and spend time with family, however, the army does not always allow for that. However, there are many things that I would have never done if I had not joined. If you are thinking about joining the military I would say to just think long and hard about it and to not just listen to my opinion, but get many others opinions. When I first joined I did not know what to expect and I did not know what it all entails. Sometimes I think that I would never had joined if I knew everything that the army or the military came with. It really all depends on what you want and what you need and what you want for your future. I am thankful of all the benefits, experiences, and friendships I have made in the military and will never regret that. What about ROTC? I wish I had known everything that came with ROTC. Every single ROTC program is different and has different leaders and goals. Every single program requires different of you. So if you are to join or are thinking about joining ROTC, I would ask multiple people before you just sign up. Although I met my beautiful fiancée and made some of the best friends that I will always have, ROTC took over my entire college years. I would say if you are wanting to join ROTC and have it pay for your education, do it! I personally think that its the best way. IF you have any questions about any of it, need some more information, or just want to hear some horror stories, ask away!
